- The search provided by aer.org is based on keypads found in the most common telephones. The mapping is shown as below.

- The search term should contain only alphabets (A-Z) and numbers (0-9).
- The digits 0 and 1 in the numeric keypad are not associated with any alphabets.
- The vowels a/e/i/o/u are located at the digits 2/3/4/6/8. You should have at least one of these digits to form a word (with some exceptions, like ply and spy).
